Are you actively looking for the perfect small business/home business opportunity?  If so, there are a number of factors you need to take into consideration before
taking the plunge and becoming your own boss.

Below, we’ve compiled a list of some of the most critical elements when choosing the right small business opportunity for you:

Time Commitment


First, you’ll want to choose a small business opportunity that fits into your current schedule.  If you can only devote a few hours per week, you’ll want to stick with a business model that allows a part time effort to produce moderate income.  Something that requires hours you don't have, won’t just drive you crazy; it’ll also lead to failure and a bad experience.

On the other hand, if you are able to make a full time commitment to a small business opportunity, spending 25 hours or more per week, you can invest in something a
little bit bigger and that takes more of your energy.  Of course, with the greater time allotment, you would expect a greater reward.

Investment Amount


How much money are you willing to invest to capitalize your business?  You must know this fact upfront (and don’t fudge on the numbers); otherwise, you could wind up
taking on an enterprise that you cannot hope to profit from.  Before you sign any contracts (if you’re working as a franchisee or partial owner), make sure you understand what kind of financial commitment you’re expected to contribute.  That way, you won’t be shocked in the future or need to suddenly take out a loan or beg money from a relative.  For those starting a home business, the initial investment is usually low to moderate.

Product or Service

"Coastal Vacations is NOT a seller of Travel and therefore is not licensed to sell travel. Coastal sells Travel and Travel Related Discount Packages that provide discounted access to many travel and travel related companies."

The Coastal Travel Compensation Plan* is very simple. Please take a moment to review the following Diagram since it outlines exactly how you will earn money marketing the Coastal Travel Packages. This Compensation Plan is the only approved way to earn commissions with Coastal; anyone not adhering to this plan will lose their ability to purchase packages from the Coastal Vacations Wholesale Shipping Center!

It is important to understand the meaning of the following words before reviewing the compensation plan:

Commission:

The Profit received from the sale of a Coastal Travel Packages are as follows:

$1,000 for a Level 1 Package
$3,000 for a Level 2 Package
$3,200 for a Premier Package (Level 1 & 2 combined)
$7,000 for a Level 3 Package
$9,705 for a Platimum Package (Level 1, 2 & 3 combined)

a Package can only be purchased from a qualified Director who is qualified at that Level. The Director keeps the profit and he/she sends the wholesale amount to the Shipping Center for processing of the Package. (The illustration below only shows a commission of $1,000, a Level 1 Sale, however the process applies to all other Levels as well.)

Director:

The person you will actually purchase your Package from. This is an individual who has qualified to market the Coastal Packages and purchase them at the wholesale cost from the Coastal Shipping Center. You must complete a total of three sales (your own purchase plus two more) to qualify as a Director; this is a once in a lifetime qualification and is required for each Level.

You will be issued a 'Directors Release' allowing you to purchase at wholesale ($295 for Level 1, $500 for Level 2 & $500 for Level 3) directly from the Coastal Shipping Center. As a Director you may also train other people to become a qualified Director. For every single person you train you will receive the first two sales you help them with as your compensation. You will then provide that person with a 'Directors Release' so they can order product at wholesale as well. It is your responsibility to work with each of the people who were a qualifying sale and profit from helping them qualify in the same manner.
   
Qualifying:

Qualifying as a Director is very simple. Let's use an Illustration to explain; this illustration has two characters in it, the 'Old Pro' and the 'New Guy':

a Vacuum Cleaner Sales Company has a very experienced sales person on the team, the Old Pro. One day the Old Pro says to the New Guy "I will teach you how to sell vacuums." The New Guy is excited and says, "Great, what do I need to do?" The Old Pro says, "It's actually very simple, take your leads and set up several appointments. I will go with you on those appointments. I will do the presentations for you and teach you a few pointers I've learned along the way. Now, since I am doing the presentations and training you, I will keep the commissions from the first two sales. However, during the process, you will have learned exactly how to sell vacuums and will be qualified to do so for the rest of your life! Sound fair?" Ecstatic at how soon he will be profiting from years of experience learned from the Old Pro he declares, "That is incredible, let's get started today!" The Old Pro even offers to assist the New Guy with questions and hints down the road long after the Training experience.

That is it! In the exact same manner, the qualified Director you purchase your Package from will be responsible for training and assisting you to QUALIFY as a Director. As a Qualified Director you will do the same for those you choose to work with.

Now that you understand these basic terms, review the Diagram below as we lay it out for you. Notice the Long-term income derived from an endless number of Training Sales:

Step 1

You personally Qualify as a Director through your purchase and two training sales!

In Step 1 your Director has earned $3,000 and you have become qualified for life to earn the same! Your Director will now go through the same process with Your Training Sales 1 & 2, helping them qualify as Director's also. You will have no responsibility for those individuals. Now it is your turn to earn commissions!

Step 2

You personally earn a $1,000 up front commission on every single sale you make. Make as many as you want.

Step 3

You will now assist each of your sales above who wish to build a business of their own. You do this in the same way you were trained, by simply using the tools provided by the Coastal Associates. You will personally receive a $1,000 commission from every single training sale. As we will see later in Step 4, keep in mind that each of these sales will be an individual you will personally train as well.

Now each of your original Training Sales are qualified Directors and will move on to build their own business. However, they have left you twice as many (10) trainees who all need your help qualifying as a Director!

Step 4

Your original five sales have qualified with two training sales each. They are now out of the picture and will now build businesses of their own. In their place through simple duplication you now have 10 NEW training sales to work with. These 10 will turn into 20, the 20 will turn into 40, the 40 into 80 and so on. This continues to INFINITY! For every sale you make, they owe you two more. Through simple duplication you can soon have thousands of Trainees! Thankfully, the Coastal system is simple and easy to teach.

The 10 Training Sales from Step 3.

Become 20 Sales = $20,000 to you! The 20.

Become 40 Sales = $40,000 to you! The 40.

Become 80 Sales = $80,000 to you! This goes on FOREVER!

If you total the sales in this Diagram so far, $5,000 + $10,000 + $20,000 + $40,000 + $80,000 you have earned $155,000 just from training your first five sales! And that's with Level 1 Sales!

If those were all Level 2 Sales at $3,000 a piece you would have earned $465,000!

Almost Half of a Million Dollars!

As you can see Coastal's Compensation Plan is powerful! To make it even more powerful consider that for every single Level 1 Sale you make you have earned a customer. When this customer decides to purchase the Level 2 and Level 3 packages, whether it is days - weeks - months - or years later, they must all purchase it from you ($3,000 commission for Level 2 and $7,000 commission for Level 3) and provide you with two Level 2 and 3 training sales in order to qualify at Level 2 and Level 3 in the same manner that they qualified for Level 1! WOW!

Starting A Small Business At Home


Starting a small home business is an exciting adventure. You can make a great deal of money and be completely self-sufficient with a small home business.  People make it happen everyday all around the world. The key factor is to be organized and plan for the start-up prior to depending on the business completely. You need to give the business time to grow and flourish before you run it solely for your income needs. Let’s review some of the basics for starting a small home business.

Select a business that you know about or have enthusiasm about and can do a little research and learn. You will spend many hours in your home business and should find one that you can be passionate about. The majority of people spend forty hours a week away from home at their jobs. If you don’t count the amount of time that you sleep, the average person spends roughly twenty hours a week in their homes.  This is half the time that they are at work. Building a successful small home business will take around forty to fifty hours a week once it is up and running. If you are not passionate about the type of business, this can be a recipe for complete disaster. After all one of the benefits of a small home business is getting to work in an area that you enjoy and love a great deal.

Be very realistic about your expectations for the small home business. For example, if you want to make and sell candles be realistic as to how many you can produce and market each week.  Don’t plan to make a profit on 500 candles being sold each day if you’re not going to realistically be able to make that many in your home business. Many people dream too far outside of the box and aren’t in touch with reality when it comes to starting a small home business. You should sit down and realistically think about the business and what type of work is involved. Have realistic expectations of what you can and cannot reasonably do working part time (10-15 hours per week) to start and then full time later down the road.

Many business methods apply to a variety of small home based types of businesses. There are traditional methods for keeping various records. You will need to know the basic tax laws for your area and the business license requirements.  Additionally, you will want to accurate business records. There are many different types of software that can help you with the organization and running of your new small home business.  Reviewing the basics of how to run a small home business will enable you to stay organized, focused and set on your goals.

Find out if there is a market for your product or service. What type of competition is in the area?  What can you offer different than your competitors. Many new small home business groups fail because they have not anticipated the competition in the area or the need for their product or service. For example, if you want to start a dog walking home business but the surrounding condo and apartment complexes do not allow pets there might not be a very high demand for your service.
